Tea market in Ukraine

Most specialists estimate today’s volume of tea market of Ukraine under 15 thousand tons, which makes up about 7.5 billion conventional cups a year. Calm and democratic tea market can not ensure quick capital circulation, as alcoholic beverages or tobacco goods can.

And to become a direct supplier of tea from abroad one should have the stock of a couple of hundreds of thousands of American dollars. That is why investors got really interested in tea business in Ukraine only some two or three years ago, when all the most attractice spheres of commerce were already either full, or their profitability went considerably down.

It was in 1997 that state also came to think about existence of this market. As the result of it customs duty for import of packed tea grew 20% up, as if letting know that the epoch of tea business came.
